  2. Dai-chan. He is super adorable imo and I really like a lot of his taste in clothing and his house is pretty awesome. I like that he dresses up with his wife too.

  3. Alumi. She is a big h. Naoto fan and so am I.

  4. Jane Mai. She is a really great person, artist, and has a super fab sense of style. I hope I can be that cool one day.

  5. Amo. Since she started modeling forever ago, I think her style has really grown and I really love her angel-like fashion these days.

  6.  Mikoron (Dai’s wife). She is just really cool.

  7. Erina Ichigo. I love her. I think she has the perfect look for lolita and I love her super traditional coords. (she is on the right)

  8. Raichi. She has a really unique style and I admire how she dresses for herself and goes from one extreme to the next all the time. She also does really creative makeup!

  9. Machiko. She is stunning.

  10. Ayako-S//Shiratama. I love her really messy goth style that still manages to be stunningly beautiful.

Day 6: 10 things you can’t live without in lolita.

  1. THE INTERNET. IT’S HOW I SHOP. IT IS MY EVERYTHING.

  3. head accessories. They make me feel pretty.
  4. cross accessories.

  9. gothic & lolita bibles//magazines
  10. street snaps for inspiration

Day 5: 10 things from your wishlist.

I’ll stick to things that I know I could fit in, since my wishlist would be all of moitie and then some…..the items I want most are #1 and #4, but really all of these are nice. I’m not putting down any tops, shoes, bags, hair accessories, etc…cause I feel like those items are easier to see one for the right price at the right time and make do. These are items I feel like I’d actually have to work hard to get ahold of.

  1. Moi-meme-moitie Sleeping Garden OP in black.

  2. Moi-meme-moitie snow cut shirring sun dress in either colorway.

  5. oreos
  6. coffee
  7. philly cheese steak
  8. gyuudon (beef bowl)
  9. bi bim bop
  10. paneer tikka masala

I like a lot of food and could go on for hours probably.

Day 3: 10 things you hate in lolita.

  1. Replicas//knockoffs. I really can’t stand it when people say that replicas are better or the same as brand, etc etc. I can’t stand it when people say that lolita is too expensive so they buy replicas. I don’t understand what is so hard about saving and getting a good quality piece that isn’t stolen work. Brand can be bought second hand for cheap, it just requires work and dedication. I can really say a lot about this, but I’ll keep it short.
  2. That I don’t have enough money to buy everything I want. I don’t hate that lolita costs a lot…a lot of it I think is right on point, but I’m not going to whine about it being expensive. I’m upset that I’m poor :c
  3. EGL on livejournal. I avoid it. I can’t get past the first page without getting mad about something. Even back when I started out, I didn’t like egl…maybe this will change…but I doubt it :/
  4. Lolita in the summer. This is really hard. Mostly I just hate the heat and I wish I had a better tolerance for it so that I could wear more elaborate coords.
  5. Gyaru lolita. I really don’t like lolita being treated as a costume and I feel like gyaru and lolita have some very conflicting ideals in their respective subcultures.
  6. When people change how they act//speak//whatever while in lolita, like suddenly try to act more cute, girly, talk like a baby, or be super “kawaii.”
  7. cookie cutter lolita. When someone just buys full matching sets, zero creativity.
  8. When people claim that anime and lolita have no connection or lolita and v-kei has no connection.
  9. When people don’t like the name lolita and want to change it or get really upset about the book. On the Japanese wikipedia, there is a section dedicated to explaining this. Pop it into google translate. It is not hard. Personally, I love the name of it being lolita.
  10. When people assume that because I am dressed differently they have the right to bother me while I’m going about my own business. Some days I’m just not in the mood to deal with people.

Day 2: 10 things you love in lolita.

  1. Moi-meme-moitie. The brand will always hold a place in my heart. I love the clothes and I want to get more badly. I guess since Mana has always been my idol, moitie being THE ELEGANT GOTHIC LOLITA brand has always stuck. It is the brand of dreams and untouchable by the others.
  2. The detail and quality of a piece. Being a textiles//fashion design student has changed my shopping a lot. I can no longer see clothing without knowing what its made of, what type of seams are used, if they are used appropriately, and then knowing how long the item will hold up. Lolita has always met my expectations and more. Considering the quality, detail, materials used, and niche market, I’ve never felt cheated on anything I’ve bought…The price always seems where it should be.
  3. The exclusivity. Lolita is something you have to work to become. It has to be earned. It is hard to get and gives me the feeling of being in a sort of…elite club? special group? idk. It just makes me feel special as soon as I’m in it and i really like the feeling of knowing the chances of seeing someone else looking like me out there is rare.
  4. The makeup. I really like a lot of the dolly-type makeups I find in the fashion and I’m a huge fan of Akio Namiki’s stuff. I just want to look like a pretty doll!
  5. Vivienne Westwood with lolita. I love lolita and high fashion, so these together I just think is the best. The spirit of Vivienne Westwood is very similar to lolita at times, so it seems only natural for them to be together.
  6. Religious motifs. I love crosses and cherubs on my clothing! Really any sort of church holy turned gothic type motifs are good with me.
  7. Black and White gothic lolita. I think its the traditional look and that its perfect in every way.
  8. platform shoes. I’m just a huge fan :3
  9. Wearing it. I love to wear lolita. If I’m having a sorta crappy day I usually try to dress up to improve my mood.
  10. Many of the people I have met because of lolita! I probably would have never met some of the most amazing people I know without being a part of my local lolita community~!

30 Day Lolita Challenge

So I’ve hit the 100 followers landmark~ I’ve decided to mark this as the beginning of my 30 Day Lolita Challenge because maybe some of you would like to get to know me better…and well it gives me something to do with my time.

Day 1: 10 things about your lolita bubble.

  1. I’ve been a lolita since 2002~2003 roughly.
  2. I didn’t own my first brand piece until 2009, which was h. Naoto FRILL’s velvet bustle skirt.
  3. Before I started buying brand, I made my own clothes and worked as best as I could with off brand stuff.
  4. I started sewing to make my own lolita clothes, which lead to me going to college for fashion design.
  5. I have studied Japanese for about 7 years and I have a minor in it, which has  helped me a lot in the past when I was first learning about lolita, reading Keras, Gothic & Lolita Bibles, etc.
  6. I don’t really pay any attention to the online lolita community//egl on livejournal. I get my info from Japanese magazines and blogs. I’m often very out of the loop on whats going on outside of my little world.
  7. To me lolita is a way of life. You have to have the spirit of lolita or it just won’t suit you. I don’t think its the type of thing for people trying to be trendy or doing it just because their friends are.
  8. I love all lolita styles, but I tend to stick to gothic because it is my favorite. I love black and white together.
  9. I have a really hard time finding tops and blouses to work with my lolita stuff, so it often drives me insane. During the school year I’m often too busy sewing for school left with no time for myself and by the time I’m done with that, I don’t want to see a sewing machine until school starts up again. I need to buy more small items like this, but I often feel like I’m still trying to catch up on all the years I didn’t buy brand when I make purchases.
  10. I try to wear lolita as much as possible because I usually feel my best when I am in it. I don’t think wearing lolita “everyday” makes someone more of a lolita than someone else.
